Job Title: Full Stack Developer

POSITION SUMMARY:

DB8 Labs is looking for a Full Stack Developer to help us create products that will allow people to voice their opinions on controversial topics, and connect over similar or opposing views. Our specific and immediate needs are for someone who has experience coding custom features on top of 3rd party applications. Examples would be adding account functionality, the ability to follow/connect, and commenting features to services like Squarespace and Active Campaign. You will be joining as an early and core member of our team which means you’ll work directly with our CEO, Head of Product, and Head of Comms to explore what features our community finds valuable. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for duties such as:

  • Allowing us to test and deploy new ideas by building features based on recommendations from our community. us create systems and processes to deploy and test features as quickly and efficiently as possible

  • Making decisions on the best tools available to get features to market

  •  Develop and test new and existing features

  • Spot and recommend ways to improve the product from a technical standpoint. Ideally, we’d love someone who can also speak up. If you can use your technical knowledge to spot areas of opportunity that marketing and community may have missed, that’s a bonus.

  • Own product development. Your code, your features.

  • Find solutions. There’s always a way, to use your technical knowledge to help us overcome current tech limitations. Scrappy is good. As long as scrappy doesn’t compromise on reliability.

  • Staying up to date with new and useful tools.

  • As the team continues to grow, management and mentorship will also be key focuses our early team members.

  • Helping with identifying great talent to build out the Development Team or other teams in general within DB8 Labs.

  • Mentoring other members of DB8 Labs (such as the people who are heading up DB8 Lab projects).

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • We don’t care about “minimum 5 years’ experience” or your academic history. Show us that you’ve built something. Show us you’ve launched a product. Show us how you’ve created success for yourself or others. Prove to us that you’re an outlier, that you’re someone who can do it on their own but wants to be part of a team with similar goals and ambitions. Not only to create something amazing as a team but also to be inspired by the people you work with.
